Worth Noting

Young blogger Sarah loved the aesthetic of stuff in posts like this. Now that I’m in my late 30s, I’d like to say my taste has become extremely practical. These are the things I actually do wear, enjoy, and otherwise swear by:

DAILY MOISTURIZER

Yeah, it’s pricey. I have annoying skin that is both oily and dry depending on the day or HVAC system, and this is the one lotion that has worked consistently for me. “Suited for: Normal and dry to very dry skin, winter and cool climates.” Bonus: It’s cruelty-free and it’s a nice glass jar that you can recycle.

GAP Big Shirt

Polished yet incredibly versatile (and comfortable) this is the perfect wardrobe staple. It’s. perfect piece to grab-and-go with rolled sleeves and French tuck if you’re running late. Ahem... It’s also pretty wrinkle-resistant (but let’s be real, it’s still a cotton shirt).

LEATHER COSMETIC BAGS

These make the hustle of packing for the airport feel… slightly more chic? They can be monogrammed, too. I use the large one for general toiletries and the smaller for makeup.

NEW EVERYDAY Jeans

Skinny jeans are out, or at least that is what has been drilled into my head at work. I say this as a recovering skinny jean addict: these are a great foray into alternative leg shapes. I’m not saying you need to. go full 70s flare, but a little extra room in the leg makes for a very sleek silhouette—and they’re extremely comfortable.

SNEAKERS

She doesn’t do heels anymore, people. She’s a sneaker gal. These are made from responsibly-sourced materials and go with just about anything. Another favorite style (but these are a serious investment): Common Projects Achilles.

ZIP WALLET

Last but not least, the one thing I always have on me is this little wallet. One really doesn’t need more room than this in a largely cashless world. This zip card carrier has room for 4 cards on the front, a sleeve for a license, and a zip pocket for cash should you choose to carry any. (It’s also monogram-able).

Until next time…
