About

Hello, I’m Sarah D. Tolzmann, a creative director, artist and designer. I’m a foodie, a Peloton cult member, and a stage 5 history nerd. I’ve lived a lot of places, I’ve seen a lot of things, and for some reason I can’t stop moving around (blame my career path).

As for this space—“A simple blog dedicated to that which we loved at first sight”—Note to Self has been with me through major life changes and leaps of faith since April 2009. To say it is personal would be an understatement. The purpose is simple: to keep track of these experiences and the things that inspire me along the way. My posts are known for a strong graphic approach and editorial perspective (not to mention killer Spotify playlists). Past work has been featured on Martha Stewart Magazine, The Skimm, House Beautiful, Town & Country and many more.

Wait. if you’ve been blogging since 2009, where are all the posts?

Great question. In Spring 2022, I decided to finally re-platform after noticing my blog host had not updated their technology in over 5 years. By doing so, I lost the virtual evidence of over a decade of posts (yes, I have the archives). But sometimes it’s nice to start fresh. I’ll continue to share some favorite throwbacks From the Archives, and otherwise you can find evidence of old work over on my Tumblr and Pinterest pages.

Why do you keep doing this?

I'm endlessly thankful for the thoughtful readers and wonderful friends I've made through this space over the years. They continue to make this a site that celebrates personal and professional growth in action as well as the frivolous things that keep life interesting.  I’ve made some of my best friends through blogging. Why stop now?

Where to find me:

I don't post as much as I used to back in the day, so keep in touch by following me on Instagram (and everywhere—including Peloton) @notetosarah. Thank you for stopping by.
