I think you know me well enough to understand how much I hate wearing heels. I admire them as a fashion staple from afar and readily applaud those that make the effort. But when it comes to actually executing my own outfits, (on very rare occasion) I come to the conclusion that I would rather be comfortable than falling all over the sidewalk. (This is, of course, a reflection on my own general clutziness rather than the practicality of heels in general. In theory, I am pro-heel. No one freak out.)
Consequentially, I am a connoisseur of flats. Like many women in New York City, my lowest file cabinet drawer is filled with "office shoes" so I can trudge in wearing whatever happens to be comute-practical and make a stealth switch with no one but the security guard being the wiser. And here's where we come full circle: my office shoe of choice is a pointed flat. I find them to have the elevated feel of a heel, but with the composure and comfort of having ones entire sole on the ground. Can you really hate on that? Better still, this Spring designers seem to be going all out in terms of patterns and shades. Behold, some personal favorites.
