How perfect is this quotation? We all know this is true, and yet personally I still need to see it written in front of me before I smack myself in the head. "Duh!" Of course great things take time. And sweat. And giggle fits. And tears. And lots of coffee... I have a point, I promise.
I've been getting many emails lately containing some pretty serious questions about blogging, personal branding and design in general – a lot more than usual. (This only seems fitting considering how quickly our online community continues to grow.) While I wish I had the ability to answer them all individually, I'm wondering if an advice column of sorts might be the way to go. And better yet, if it's not a question I can answer myself, I will see if I can reach out to some talented blogger or designer friends of mine to get it answered in the best possible way.
Now, I'm not an expert, but I have been at this going on 4 years, as well as the bookish grad school perspective to back me up. Epictetus is right - good things do take time, and if I can share with you some of the lessons it's taken me years to learn, I'm happy to provide you with even the smallest of shortcuts.
